Oldenburg and van Bruggen
Claes Oldenburg, one of the pioneers of Pop-Art, started working with Coosje Van Bruggen in 1976. Van Bruggen died in January 2009. Tumbling Tacks marks the end of a longstanding partnership, which the artist couple described as ”a unity of opposites”: A constant exchange between two distinct personalities.
